Me: "Yes show me"
The pictures can't capture the way the orange light was pouring into our living room window. It was for sure a wonderful display of God's artwork!Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Patience
This year I am trying to do unit studies that focus on character qualities. The first is patiences. It is a virtue you know. The unit started out talking about plants and how God has a time for everything. Kellina has been amazing at how well she is absorbing and retaining. The next item talked about was bread. It does take a lot of patients to bake bread!! All the units tie scripture and bible time in. This unit talked about passover. It had you read about the first passover. It was great to see the light bulb go off in Samantha's mind. "Mom that is why it is called pass over. Because God passed over them." We are now learning about yeast and how it is the leaven in bread. So that meant a trip to our friends house to make our own bread. What better way to learn about patients then to make your own bread. Okay this time we decided to do pretzels. I mean they are a bread product. It was great to see the girls get all the ingredients. Measure them, mix them, and wait for them to do their thing. We learned what it meant for the dough to double in size. We learned how these lumps could turn into pretzels. Very hands on and fun!! And best of all we got to enjoy them once the entire process was done!
I will for sure do these again at home. I plan to try many different recipes and see which are the best. I leave you with the picture that I love the most. Who could resist the cute little hands working so hard!!!
