School Pictures
Something all of public school kids had to endure every year, but something my home-school children haven't had the pleasure of. So this year I decided I would torture, I mean bless my kiddos with school pictures. One great thing was nature was my back drop. Here is some from round one.
Very pretty girls huh? What about the boys? No worries I tortured, I mean blessed them too.
As you can see I got some good shots. Then I looked again. PJ's and messy hair! This would never do! Stay tuned for the next installment of school pictures take two.

Joshua learns to spell
"Hey dad. I know how to spell God. Hey dad. I know how to spell God."
"Yeah Josh. How?"
In this brief couple of seconds of conversation I overheard my son and husband speak, my proud mama heart swelled. I just knew that Joshua was gonna blow us all away with genius ability to spell. How home-school osmosis has rubbed off on him and at 3 and 1/2 he was not going to need a lick of school.
"Okay dad. 2, 7, puh. That's how you spell God."
Then I was back in reality and so glad that God blessed me with such a sweet little boy.

Flashback Friday
I recently ran across some photos that blew my mind, so I thought I should share. And please note I have no idea which baby is Caleb or which baby is Josh.

One Proud Mama
That's what I was on Saturday. Not that I don't have proud moments all the time, being a mother of six. But Saturday was different. What was so different? Samantha hiked with me up to Fragrance Lake.
Might not sound like a big deal to you, but trust me its not a walk in the park.
My pastor and his family can back us up on this one(we ran in to them on our way down). When it got tough she stuck it out and in the end I think she was glad. We saw cool things.
We decided that a hike up with a packed lunch and swim gear is for sure a must.
We just had fun(well, at least on the way down).
The most funny things were the things that came out of Isaiah's mouth. He was on my back in the ergo. On the way up he kept saying "monkey's, trees" over and over. On the way down with everyone of my steps he would say "ouch, ouch". It made Sam and I giggle and almost forget the torture we were enduring. I can't wait for next summer and more hikes!

Memories
These pictures I am so glad to have.
My boys hate to be wet.
They hate to have water on their head.
Caleb didn't mind at all though on this hot summer day.

Brave
That was the theme for Kellina's sixth birthday this year. I am not a themed birthday kinda gal, but thanks to pintrest and other people's creative spirit a themed birthday I did. My mom made the cake. Which was mind blowing. Pictures don't do it justice.
She also provided Kellina with the proper princess dress.
Then we had the party. Four little girls all in their princess dresses participating in our own Highland games. They tried their hand at archery.
They tried their hand at rock put.
After which Kellina decided the princess should judge the games not be in them.
Then they tried their hand at caber tossing.
When that was all done they went in to eat cake. But wait! It was missing! In its place was a Wisp and a clue.
The girls then had to hunt down Wisp's and the clues that would reveal the cake. This was a huge hit! So there you have it. Kellina is now six, I did my first themed birthday, and we have officially left summer behind and are hitting the books around here. You will have to suffer through a couple belated summer posts though as those never got written in the busy summer days :)
