Proof

I just thought I should post some photos of Isaiah and his first hair cut. I mean really when a dad locks himself in the bathroom with a boy and some clippers photos are a must! This last photo doesn't show his hair, but it shows off that handsome smile. And the amazing sparkle in his eye!

A Valentines Date

So, I am really not really into the entire valentines event. I don't want my hubby to buy me something that day or treat me any different than a normal day. Having said that, this year we did use it as an excuse to get a sitter and go out together. It was a very nice outing since the kids have been so sick for so long. Since we got to leave Isaiah at home our options were very open. What did we do? We went shooting!! We set up targets. I just happened to explode this very one. Jeff would shoot and I would collect casings. The gold things flying in the air in the picture. It sounds boring, but it turned out fun. It was like looking for agates on the beach. Then I got to shoot my gun. It's a Bodyguard for those who care. I couldn't aim it to save my life and kept closing my eyes. The trigger is weird! Next I got to shoot Jeff's gun. It is a Kimber .45. That means it has really big bullets. Jeff jokes it could kill an elephant. At first I was nervous, but it was AMAZING. I didn't close my eyes and could aim!! We ended up having a very fun and unusual valentines date.

Isaiah the toddler

It is true Isaiah is hitting the toddler stage. It seems to be happening faster every day. It all started with the walking. He is getting so good at it that when he does it I am no longer shocked. Now he has decided to master talking. Nothing major yet, but he has gotten mama and dada down. Not just saying them, but knowing what they mean. He also has started to wave at people. I have decided to take advantage of this and teach him the sign for all done. He shakes his head no currently when he doesn't want any more. And the final thing that has pushed him even farther is his new hair cut. Daddy took him in the bathroom last night and came out with a buzzed boy. I don't have any photos yet, but here are the ones that prompted the cut. So, it is true the Doyle's are almost babyless.

The cabin at Mt. Baker

No not that cabin. That is a cabin that the kids built and rebuilt more times than I could count while we stayed at this cabin. To celebrate Jeff's birthday we headed to the hills for a couple days away. It was just what this family needed. We took advantage of all the cabin offered. Puzzles were worked on. It got this far and then I had to throw in the towel because we were headed home. Games were played. Can you guess Melia's new favorite game. Here is one more clue. Fires were sat by, while dad made s'mores. Which we learned were much more melty out of the microwave due to using peanut butter cups. Things I don't have photos of are walking the trails, reading books, daddy shooting his gun while the boys watched in awe, mommy shooting the gun while the kids watch in amazement, sitting in the hot tub, stomping in the snow in the yard, and eating more than we should. For me the best part was the memories made and the bonding shared. A big thank you to Kristal who made it all possible!
