Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere...

I had the privilege to take part in the first ever Thames Pumpkin Party. It was for sure a blast and ideas for next year are already flowing. Samantha started out by making us all pumpkin scones with cinnamon icing(YUMMY!). Then we dove into fun with the littler kiddos. Pumpkins were carved. Next, off to a fun scavenger hunt of pumpkins. Pumpkins were hid. Clues were read. Pumpkins looked for. Pumpkins found!! Next was pumpkin eating time. All things pumpkin. The list included: pumpkin scones, pumpkin bread, pumpkin butter, pumpkin dip, and for adults pumpkin coffee. It was for sure a fun day. Even Abigail enjoyed herself!

Chickie eggs!!

The boys love to go and help mom get the eggs from the chickens. They both yell "Chickie eggs!" and off we go. See how much Joshua loves to be holding his egg. I always tell him to be careful. And about half the time his egg always ends up like this. The chicken's really sicked me out when the next thing they did was eat the egg. YUCK!! I am sad to say that last night we lost chicken's to a raccoon. If any survived it was pepper. The black and white one. We thought she was dead and suddenly she stood up and started walking around. We figure she will either be dead by today a laying eggs. My poor sweet chickens. Here's to a new flock coming soon.

My model

I have found that I have one girl who very much enjoys being my model. This is a very good thing because there have been many times I want to try something and need a model. Melia is always up for helping me out when I need it. The other girls are helpful too, but not all the time. She can be quite a goof sometimes, so I have learned if I let her pick a pose then she is more willing to do what I ask. So glad I have such a big helper!!

Brothers

I am sure there is a special bond between all brothers, but there is something even more amazing between twins. I love to capture some of their special moments together.Lately, they have been more on the rough and tumble sidethan the sweet side.

Fall time harvest!!

At my mom's house fall is in the air. One wonderful thing that lets me know fall is here is the joy of picking Asian Pears off her tree. This year Melia was super exited to pick. And I was super excited to get a photographic record. She did a great job and filled this entire bag! Nothing beats free fruit in the fall. Well, maybe just one thing. My personal obsession is here. The joy of mushrooms!! Nothing beats it.

"Send these to the Bergeron's!"

That is what Kellina said as I took these photo's of her and Melia. Who are the Bergeron's? For those of you who don't know it is my friend Renee, who I spoke of my last blog. Why would we send these photos to them? Well, click here and it may make more sense to you. Kellina complained after that we didn't have any blood.

Best and Worst

The best part about a surprise sipder: I get to run, get my camera and practice more with manual mode. Worst part: I really don't like spiders, so the entire time I was worried it would some how get me!! The best part about an older daughter: Her setting up her own ride made it possible for me to get some beautiful photos while the sun was setting(of course there are more). Worst part: My little girl is turning into a young lady much to fast. The best part of relearning my camera: Getting beautiful memories to last a life time. Worst part: My poor children now have to pose when and where ever I say(including a parking lot in front of a bush). This post was inspired by my friend Renee. She has inspired me in many other ways and areas of my life. If you want some inspiration visit her blog here and see what happens. If that isn't enough go check out her photos here. She does an amazing job and has been a huge help for my photo ability.

More practice needed

It is so nice to have friends who let me practice taking pictures using their children. My kids can only handle so much! With fall here I thought practicing out doors with the leaves would be nice. I am trying to figure out my camera and what happens when I make certain changes and how those changes effect my pictures. I have learned that getting kids to do what I want is very difficult. The one shot that I still haven't got for this family is the group kid shot. Some day it will happen, but for now we got some great individual shots! Thank you Thames family for the fun fall day and the practice! One question for my photo taking friends. Should I start to watermark my photos?
