Church camp out!

Well we went on our first camp out with the boys. Thursday I went up with five kids a tent and a lot of support from good friends(Jeff joined us Friday afternoon). Every year the church gets a bunch of camp sites and we all go camping(the church I mean). This is our second year attending and it was a blast. Jeff played volleyball, horse shoes, and music with friends. The little girls ran around with no worries. They were constantly covered with a thick layer of dirt. Samantha only came to our site for meals and sleep. The rest of the time she rode her bike and played dress up with girlfriends. Yes the girls did have dress up clothes at camp. They even made a broom with a stick and ferns they attached with rope. We had to leave early though because Kellina came down with a fever. The boys did well, but they woke up several times in the night. They do this at home, but at camp we woke up some others in their tents. Sorry neighbors. We shared a site with friends and squeezed 19 people into the site. 15 were children. We were not however the fullest site. That was two sites over with 22 people. 18 of them were children. Funny thing happened no one camped in between us. I can't imagine why. They have a kids olympics every year and this year all the girls played. Here are some photos my mom took and I'll have to share mine later. This experiance has given me more confidence to take on more camping before the summer ends. Even if its only in the back yard.

  1. Looks like lots of fun. And..No, I can't imagine the site in-between to be very coveted :):)

They kids all look like they had a blast. There is a freedom with camping...I think it is necessary for child development.

FYI: Backyard camping IS almost just as fun with no PACKING :)
